Laurel Munshower
Director of Communications and Strategy
Laurel joined Rifeline in January 2024 as Director of Communications and Strategy, arriving with 15 years of experience in communications that includes journalism, editing, PR and social media.
Since joining Rifeline Laurel has worked closely with various TxDOT districts across the state on mobility projects from the feasibility stage to active construction. Some of these include the I-14 Extension Project in Waco District and the I-27 Feasibility Study from Amarillo to Dumas in Amarillo District, both of which are in the planning stages and have benefited from extensive public-involvement activities with the community to help inform the direction of those projects. Closer to home Laurel collaborates with the Austin District on outreach for the extensive Mobility35 program, which includes I-35 Capital Express, a trio of Austin-area projects currently in various stages of construction along this active corridor.
Her career journey benefits from a wealth of diverse industries and experiences that began with a Bachelor of Fine Arts earned at PennWest Edinboro that eventually led to a 13-year stint as an expat in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, working in arts, culture and luxury-travel journalism and PR.
Laurel is a strategic communicator who can understand, speak to and collaborate with a wide array of stakeholders to lead complex projects and achieve outcomes that are both meaningful and successful.
