Nikki Thompson

Designer and Production Manager

Nikki joined Rifeline in October 2024 as Graphic Designer and Production Manager of the Creative Services department, where she leads the planning, coordination, and delivery of creative support services including graphic design, photography/videography, drone operations, language translations, and ADA remediation. She works to ensure Rifeline’s visual communications connect with and are accessible to all audiences, carrying that focus through both creative development and accessibility efforts. As a certified drone pilot, Nikki also manages Rifeline’s drone program, which supports a variety of public-sector clients such as Austin ISD, Williamson County, and TxDOT.

With over a decade of experience in media and marketing communications, Nikki specializes in creating visually engaging, equity-focused materials that support public understanding and participation. Her work spans infographics, educational tools, campaign branding, outreach collateral, and accessible communications designed to make complex information clear, engaging, and meaningful to diverse audiences.

Prior to Rifeline, Nikki served as a Senior Public Information Specialist with the City of Austin’s Transportation and Public Works Department (2020–2024), where she led visual communications for major initiatives including Our Future 35, Get There ATX, Corridors for Complete Communities, and the Corridor Mobility Program. She brings deep experience translating complex infrastructure projects into clear, compelling public-facing narratives.

Outside of work, Nikki continues to pursue creative interests through illustration, crafting, and other hands-on projects. She particularly enjoys illustrating for children’s books and finding new ways to incorporate creativity into everyday life.
