Nikki Thompson

Designer and Production Manager

Nikki joined Rifeline in October 2024 as Graphic Designer and Production Manager of the Creative Services department, where she leads the planning, coordination, and delivery of creative support services including graphic design, photography/videography, drone operations, and language translations. As a certified drone pilot, Nikki also manages Rifeline’s drone program, which supports a variety of public-sector clients such as Austin ISD, Williamson County, and TxDOT. 

With more than a decade of professional experience in media communications, Nikki’s expertise spans graphic design, photography, videography, and marketing communications. She specializes in creating visually engaging materials that promote equity and inclusion—ranging from infographics and educational tools to campaign branding and public outreach collateral. 

Before joining Rifeline, Nikki served as a Public Information Specialist Sr. at the City of Austin’s Transportation and Public Works Department from 2020 to 2024. During her time there, she led visual communications for major initiatives including Our Future 35, Get There ATX, Corridors for Complete Communities, and the Corridor Program. 

Nikki earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Digital Media from the Art Institute of Indianapolis in 2014. Her professional toolkit also includes certifications in mediation, facilitation, and public engagement (IAP2). Outside of work, Nikki is a multidisciplinary artist who enjoys painting, illustrating, sculpting, and collecting physical media.
